Farice is developing a new subsea cable named Audur, intended as a replacement for the older FARICE-1. Set to land in Southern Iceland and Scotland, this cable, named after an Icelandic matriarch, is expected to significantly enhance data capacity due to its design supporting up to nearly half a petabit per second. The project reflects the rising demand for data centers in Iceland driven by affordable renewable energy resources.
