Jellyfin on macOS for a quick self-hosted media library

This post describes how to run Jellyfin, a self-hosted media server, on macOS using either a downloadable app or Homebrew. The author shares their personal experience of needing a media server while away from their usual setup. Although macOS isn't officially supported for Jellyfin's Docker setup, the author successfully finds alternatives to enjoy their media collection during a family trip.
