It has been a long time since I have posted any updates about upb, my implementation of Protocol Buffers. In 2011 I posted the article upb status and preliminary performance numbers, showing that upb’s JIT compiler yielded impressive performance results parsing Protocol Buffers, particularly when used as a stream parser.
