Microsoft has introduced Coreutils for Windows, a set of Unix-style command-line utilities that run natively on Windows, announced at Build 2026. This tool allows users to access familiar Linux-style commands without the need for Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) or additional compatibility layers, based on the uutils open-source project.
