In January 2022, we are working on implementing a change to the Container Registry on GitLab.com. The GitLab Container Registry will now interface with the Google Cloud Content Delivery Network CDN to optimize costs and improve performance. When implemented, the system will redirect download requests for blobs stored in the GitLab Container Registry to Google Cloud CDN instead of Google Cloud Storage, as is the case today.
