Elixir 101 - Introducing the Syntax

I've been posting a lot of articles in the last few weeks, check out the "Elixir" tag to read all of them. Many tutorial series start introducing a new language by its syntax. I subverted the order. Elixir is not interesting because of its syntax. Erlang is interesting all by itself, because of its very mature, highly reliable, highly concurrent, distributed nature. But its syntax is not for the faint of heart. It's not "ugly", it's just too different for us - from the C school - to easily diges...
