I turned 40 today. Well, actually, as I’m writing this, I’m not yet 40. And, unless you happen to be reading this on the very day I post it, it’s no longer my birthday. Chronology in text is weird. I’m not gonna lie. This number is hitting me hard. Intellectually, I get that the fact that it’s a round number is merely an artifact of our base ten numeral system, which is in turn an arbitrary quirk of the evolutionary history that led to us having ten fingers.
